Package: This CD is mostly interesting due to the beautiful booklet with manyinteresting high-quality photos and review of the show done by O/M. The package styled in tex-mex style fonts and you can find all the necessary info about the show, including technical notes about the recording. I wish every Elvis bootleg CD would be the same quality of package.

Elvis: This is a third soundboard released from this particular tour (May 27 - June 6, 1976) after June 1, 1976 (Tucson 76) and parts of June 3, 1976 (Cajun Tornado). Other shows recorded on soundboard from this tour include matinee and evening shows from May 30 in Odessa, TX. What is very important is that this show was never released before, even from the audience tape. Anyway, 1976 was already covered much by other releases.

We can't say this is the best period of 1976 for Elvis, his voice is rather weak, however during If You Love Me Let Me Know (Elvis introduces this song as "If you love me let me GO") and Hurt, his voice becomes stronger. Anyway, this show can be described as very quiet, without much weird moments. This easily can be explained by the place where everything happened: El Paso was one of the so called "villages" Elvis had to go through according to the tour contract. Of course it was not the same for Elvis to perform in El Paso and in New York, for example. This surely affected the show.

Unfortunately we can't compare this show with the previous Elvis' show in El Paso back in November 1972, since there is no known tapes of this event.

Highlights: The sound quality of this CD is very good, Elvis's voice is in the first row and sounds much higher than other instruments. You can listen to the "Early Mornin' Rain MP3 sample, just to get your own opinion about the quality, which really deserves to be mentioned.

In overall I can say that this CD is a good purchase for those, who like good sound quality, and does not pay much attention to the show itself. This CD will be a good addition to the collection of the best designed CD's as well.
