Review: This CD opens with Love me Tender played by Joe Guercio orchestra. It is very fast, jazz version, close to the one sung with Frank Sinatra in the Welcome Home Elvis. After that the master of ceremonies announces it is the time of the Voice. These fellows from Nashville sing 2 songs and after that the same guy talks about what fans can buy at the building. You can clearly hear John Wilkinson playing the guitar, with a good solo!
The lights go down and the legendary Also Sprach Zarathustra begins... The drums are playing and Elvis comes out and See See Rider crushes us! Elvis is strong, and sings it till the end with the well known "One, two...". What comes next are OK versions of I Got A Woman, Love me and If you Love Me. After that the King says that his first movie was Love Me Tender, and he wants to sing it for the people, but he stops the group after the intro and says that he doesn't like to do it, but quickly adds that it's a joke and does it. The rock'n'roll-s are strong but as usual boring. After that he sings a new song - Fairytale. What follows is a standard 75' version of Burning Love. What has made him sing this song in 75, after almost not singing it in 74? Hell knows. But anyway, it is as good as the Aloha version.
The next are the intros. After that Elvis introduces his father and doctor Nick to the audience. The next song is T-R-O-U-B-L-E, again similar to the Deep Down South version. After that J.D. sings the wonderful Why Me Lord? during which Elvis jokes ("Why me Lord? What have I ever done? Elvis adds "Not much", and shouts "Kiss Me" with a high falsetto voice to J.D.), but anyway, it is good. The next is How Great Thou Art, which is as great as usual, with a reprise. After that we have a 75' version of Let me be There, Funny How time slips Away and a funny Little Darling. What follows is a great version of American Trilogy and a rocking Mystery Train/Tiger man. The concert ends with Can't Help Falling In Love, just like always.
My conclusion is: this concert (as in case with any concert release from the June 1975 tour) is a must have. If you are a real fan than you should do anything you can to get this CD and do it faster! And this is an order!!! :-)
