Package: The design of the CD is stolen from Unchained Elvis (May 1977). If you compare them, you see no difference at all. Well, it's a bootleggers tradition: to steel from the stolen.
Elvis: He is in a great mood as his last tour (June 17 - June 26, 1977) comes to an end. I would give this show the same rating as Adios The Final Performance. I bet that the show from June 25, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio was better. In overall his voice is very strong and he is not as tired as he was 3 days earlier on the filming of Elvis In Concert (see: CBS Tapes). This is something that often happened to Elvis - he started his tours in bad condition and ended with high quality energizing shows. This is the case.
Highlights: From this short tour only a few soundboards exist. Partly they were released on the official Elvis in Concert double CD. The show from June 19 was released on Candid Elvis On Camera and As I Leave You.
As for this exact show, it was distributed as an audio tape on double CDR release: ONE NIGHT IN MADISON. The tape also included about 20 min. of warming up songs by the Sweet Inspirations before the show.
As the quality of the tape sucks, the producers reduced the speed. Some of the songs are incomplete. Among the highlights of the concert are: I Really Don't Want To Know, Hurt, It's Now Or Never and And I Love You So.
In overall this show is one of the best from the tour and deserves a better sound enhancing. As a historic document this is a must have for every 70-s CD collector.
