Elvis: This is not a complete concert, although the missed songs were taken from different shows. Tracks 1-3 from June 10, 1975 and very rare Jambalaya from May 4, 1975 Lake Charles engagement. The original parts of the tape were damaged. This is a great concert, as well as others from this tour (see: Deep Down South, DallasSeventyFive, Let Me Take You Home, Sold Out In Dixie, The Eagle Has Landed). Elvis was wearing the very beautiful Black Phoenix Jumpsuit and gave out a very strong performance with a lot of old jokes and much kidding. Before Mystery Train, Elvis tells the security not to be so rude with the people - "they just want to take a scarf". The police had nothing to do with it.

Highlights:Among highlights are: Mystery Train / Tiger Man, The Wonder Of You, Help Me Make It Through The Night and others. This is a very good concert.

Review by Christopher Brown (witness of the show). The review is taken from his book On Tour With Elvis: The show opens with ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA, and Elvis enters the huge arena wearing the white jumpsuit, with black eagle. Bursting into SEE SEE RIDER, following his tremendous reception, Elvis follows with the usual, lengthy "welling" as he tries to "wake himself up". This leads into a medley of I GOT A WOMAN and AMEN.

Elvis, wanting to show off J.D.'s deep voice, repeats the last bit of 'Amen" so J.D. can slide down the piano keys again. LOVE ME affords Elvis an opportunity to give out a few scarves and kisses.

Elvis follows this with IF YOU LOVE ME, LET ME KNOW. Oh, how I keep hoping this will soon appear on a single or album. What a great song!

The oldies follow now, including LOVE ME TENDER, ALL SHOOK UP, a medley of TEDDY BEAR and DON'T BE CRUEL, and HOUND DOG.

Finally, Elvis is now performing some of his newer material. THE WONDER OF YOU is next, and a rare (for this tour) version of POLK SALAD ANNIE.

Elvis pauses during the show to introduce his band and the back-up singers. The next twelve minutes feature solos by James, Ronnie, Jerry, Glenn and the Joe Guercio Orchestra. On two of the solos, Elvis joins in on short versions of JOHNNY B. GOODE and HAIL HAIL ROCK AND ROLL. Again, Elvis tries to avoid the spotlight so his musicians can be better appreciated.

Elvis introduces his new single, and it's wonderful to see him promoting T-R-0-U-B-L-E on tour. Elvis performs a send-up version of WHY ME, LORD?, and unfortunately skips "'How Great Thou Art" which had become a staple on the second half of this tour.

LET ME BE THERE and AN AMERICAN TRILOGY follow, while FUNNY HOW TIME SLIPS AWAY offers an opportunity for Elvis to have the houselights turned up so he can see the audience.

Fairly standard show! However -- Elvis now tries something a little different. He sings a short, unsteady version of JAMBALAYA. Great! I was always hoping Elvis would sing something new - never really expecting (but hoping!) he would sing something he hadn't done before at all! For some reason, the sound this evening isn't quite as good as yesterday, and I find it very difficult trying to make out the words. (Perhaps it is just because I am sitting so far back on the floor.)

Following this rare, never released performance, Elvis skips 'Little Darlin' and goes right into a medley of MYSTERY TRAIN and TIGER MAN. The crowd is a bit wilder, perhaps sensing that Elvis is wrapping the show up.

As the medley ends, Elvis comments about being asked to perform the next song. He slowly begins a rare version of HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT. Claude was right! The only time on tour, and though Elvis doesn't seem interested, he nevertheless performs a new song,

Quickly, however, Elvis is thanking the audience, and the opening notes of CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE begin. The crowd knows their time with Elvis will be over shortly.

After taking a few minutes to salute all sides of the stage as the CLOSING VAMP is being played, Elvis leaves the stage.
